The Commute

15 hours per week: my commute during a 3 month internship.

6 hours and 18 minutes per week: That is the average commute time for New York City, at least that is what this study says.

What a big waste of time!! Can you believe that??!

6 hours * 50 weeks * population of New York = Big Numbers of wasted hours!

I have had a variety of commutes.

I started out with an internship where I was commuting a little over 3 hours a day, using public transportation around Paris. It sucked.

Then I got a job where I was commuting in 2 hours a day, in my car on the 405 in Los Angeles. At least I had the radio... I liked my car, and I carpooled. Still, the commute sucked.

Now at my job I am commuting about 50 min a day, on my bike in Paris.

It's awesome!!!! Not surprisingly, I love my commute. I leave in the morning stoked to be able to ride my bike for 25 min. I get the best of the fresh morning air! I get my exercise out of the way! I get some time to just relax! I don't think about anything to clear my brain before getting down to business.

After work I hop back on the bike, and bike away all the worries and stress of work. I get home once again happy, stoked, and full of energy.

Your shitty commute will slowly kill you! It'll will suck all the life and energy out of you. It will affect all the other aspects of your life.

Especially if you drive on the 405 it literally might kill you.

Ride a bike and enjoy the positive vibes.
