A Ride Through Orinda with Mike and His Bike
Today we took a small ride through Orinda, CA to do some exploring.
We came upon a road called Spyder Canyon Rd (or something like that) which took us up twisted, tree top canopy pavement filled with scenic views of California's rolling country side, observed by outsiders only through pictures online and Land O Lakes butter labels.
As we ascended the new found road we encountered a large turkey crossing nearly 20 feet in front of us, a herd of cows grazing a field and a pack of deer munching light vegetation for dinner.
At the apex of the mountain lay a beautiful, secluded town with a swimmable lake. The drive was truly awesome, uncharted and spontaneous.
The bike is becoming much more comfortable. Sluggish-ish compared to my Ninja, but enjoyable none the least and can go almost anywhere. It makes a great touring vehicle equipped with side panniers for storing extra clothing, camping gear and a tent.
Here're a few shots atop an embankment on the side of the road, somewhere in Orinda, CA
