-Right now, it's is exactly Facebook for professional people. They go on it when they are bored at work, look at what their friends are doing, read useless articles. Call it networking if you want. Same kind of networking a 14 year old does on snapchat.
On Feb 5 the stock tumbled down a bit less than 50% after earnings growth outlook were disappointing. Does it surprise me? Absolutely not.
Do I really want to see this kind of post appearing on my newsfeed?
Also, the "holy grail" of most annoying things about LinkedIn, the new contact indicator that is always turned on.
Why the F--- would you say that I have a new friend request when I don't have one???? Isn't that like user interface 101? Don't get a user's hopes up as if they are getting some linkedin friend action, when they aren't getting any action at all.
Also, I don't want to see a bunch of spam articles on the new tesla beater. Also I don't want to read the 10 thousandth article on "10 ways to be productive at work", "15 ways to wake up earlier", or "7 ways to be a female leader".
A while back when I was in between 2 jobs I got Linkedin Premium for 30 bucks a month. It was the most useless waste of 30 dollars. The only difference was that I got to see the people who viewed my profile, all 2 of them.
Also the linkedin messaging in the website is the worst. It absolutely sucks. Out of the more than 7000 employees, can't they figure out how to make a functional messenger?
I think Linkedin has potential. And I think right now they have hit the bottom. And now they just have to stop being lazy and swim back up.
Basically every up-to-date working person in the US has a Linkedin account, it's the standard resume keeper these days. Why isn't linkedin capitalizing on this and doing big things. Companies and people still use recruiting agencies to get hired. In the age of big data and the internet, how can recruiters (with their companies private databases) find better candidates than linkedin? Why aren't cold hard stats beating human relations? Recruiting agencies should be a thing of the past!
Also why are people still sending in paper resume's and cover letter's when their whole career life is on linkedin?
Why are people even sending resume's when artificial intelligence could just scavenge linkedin and match potential workers with companies in a more efficient way than any human ever could?
After this rant, you'll say, just delete your account, but I can't! All my business "friends" are on there already! So linkedIn has me trapped. LinkedIn needs to harness all the power that it has and do something useful with it! It will help people and help itself! I want to like linkedIn again.
