Don't Get Sold

When buying a used car, be careful, car salesmen are very good at ripping you off. Their job is to sell you a car for as high as possible. It is not for nothing that there is a stereotype for car salesmen...They are trained to do this and are very good at it. Make sure to study up on salesman tricks before you go in. Here are some tips:

If the salesman tells you, "If I sell you the car at XXX dollars, I'll be selling it for lower than I bought it and will actually lose money!" he is definitely lying.

If he says he checked over everything and there are no leaks... this probably just means he looked over the entire car and wiped perfectly clean any spots where there are leaks. Take the car to your own mechanic and pay 100 bucks for a checkover. 100 bucks is less than a 1000 dollar fix. Usually people decide to sell a car when they know they have a big fix coming up.

If you walk away, you won and the salesman lost. If the salesman sells you the car, he won. Never forget this.

To finish it off, here is a quote by Oscar Wilde: "The salesman knows nothing of what he is selling save that he is charging a great deal too much for it."
