Raspberry Pi

I bought this circuit board about a month ago. It is a very small computer. It is basically the same board from a phone but it is more spread out and accessible. It is an awesome tool for any aspiring electrical engineer. It's super easy to use and you can learn the basics of coding and electronics of a full working product. What I like is that you can easily integrate hardware and software by using the GPIO pins. There are simple tutorials all over the web, or crazy projects

One issue is that you will end up spending way more than just the 30 dollar pi. You need to buy a charger, screen, keyboard, mouse, SD memory card, and a kit with resistors, LED's, etc. Which could end up being close to 200 bucks. But to me thats worth it for all the learning you get out of it. I'm still figuring out how to use it and learning more every day.
