Here are the steps:
- Loosen Lug Nuts
- Jack up your car. Put it on some kind of stable stand so that it doesn't fall.
- Take off wheel
- Remove 2 bolts that hold the brake calipers in place. (Be careful not to slip and smash your hand)
- With screw driver, push calipers back in using leverage from the disk.
- Take caliper piece off
- Remove brake pads
- Install new brake pads
- Put caliper back on. If it doesn't fit you need to push calipers back more...
- Put bolts back in place, make sure they move back and forth and are not dry. If necessary add grease that came with the new brake pads.
- Tighten bolts, but don't tighten to much. Just what you can do with the strength of your arm, don't put your body into it.
- Reinstall wheel
- Lower car
- Tighten Lug nuts.
Extras:
- Look up a youtube video for your specific car model just to see if there is anything specific.
- It should take less than an hour.
- Make sure the old brake pads were not worn to the metal, if yes than new disks might be necessary.
- Check that disk looks smooth.
